Samsung Heavy Industries received Approval in Principle from the American Bureau of Shipping in December 2025 for a floating marine nuclear power platform featuring two SMART100 SMRs. The SMART100 design received Standard Design Approval from South Korea's NSSC in September 2024 and is set to become the first SMR to formally submit a Safeguards Technical Report to the IAEA.
