Necsa launched an Expression of Interest process to identify capable SMR technology partners for deployment in South Africa. The aim is to demonstrate an SMR technology that will produce power, process heat and isotopes. The SMR programme aligns with South Africa's IRP which lays out plans for 5,200 MW of new nuclear capacity by 2039.
