Stratek Global has secured a 2,000-hectare site at Zilkaats Estate on the border of Gauteng and North West provinces for deployment of its HTMR-100 reactor. The project represents a R5.7 billion investment. The HTMR-100 is a high-temperature helium-cooled SMR derived from South Africa's earlier Pebble Bed Modular Reactor programme.
