Dutch nuclear energy developer ULC-Energy signed a letter of intent power purchase agreement with data centre giant Equinix for up to 250 MWe to power Equinix data centres in the Netherlands. Rolls-Royce SMR is collaborating with ULC-Energy as the reactor technology provider. The Netherlands has one of the highest concentrations of data centres in Europe and faces acute electricity demand pressure. This marks the first major data centre SMR deal in continental Europe.
