Ukraine is actively pursuing SMR deployment to rebuild its war-damaged energy infrastructure. Westinghouse already supplies AP1000 fuel to Ukraine's existing VVER fleet and is the preferred Western partner for new nuclear. Czech, Finnish, Polish, Swedish and Ukrainian nuclear regulators are conducting a Joint Early Review of Steady Energy's LDR-50 — indicating Ukraine's active regulatory engagement with SMR technology. Ukraine's reconstruction needs make SMRs a strategic priority.
