X-energy and IHI Corporation signed an MOU on March 16, 2026 at the Indo-Pacific Energy Security Ministerial and Business Forum in Tokyo to expand US-Japan supply chain development for the Xe-100. IHI brings world-class HTGR component manufacturing capabilities — including safety-critical components largely unavailable at commercial scale in the US — and established relationships with Japanese materials suppliers. The agreement supports X-energy's 11 GW commercial pipeline and 144-unit orderbook, exploring commercial-scale manufacturing of nuclear-grade long-lead components for the Xe-100.
