American Electric Power (AEP) is a US electric utility based in Columbus, Ohio. Its subsidiary Appalachian Power is developing a possible small modular reactor site at Joshua Falls in Campbell County, Virginia, and AEP is partnering with X-energy and Amazon on an Xe-100 SMR project in Sullivan County, Indiana, announced in October 2026.
