About

Centrica plc is a British multinational energy and services company, parent of British Gas, formed in 1997 from the demerger of British Gas plc. Listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: CNA) as a FTSE 100 constituent, it employs approximately 20,000 people and reported revenue of GBP 21.57 billion in 2025. Centrica holds a 15 percent equity stake in Sizewell C, a 3.2 GW two-unit EPR nuclear plant under construction in Suffolk, with a capped GBP 1.3 billion investment commitment, alongside co-owners HM Government, La Caisse, EDF, and Amber Infrastructure Group. In September 2025, Centrica partnered with X-energy to deploy up to 6 GW of Xe-100 small modular reactor capacity across the UK, starting at Hartlepool; the Xe-100 was accepted into the UK's Generic Design Assessment process in September 2026.
