Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited is a public sector enterprise under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. NPCIL is responsible for the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of nuclear power reactors in India. It operates 22 nuclear power reactors across the country and is constructing additional units including the VVER-1000 reactors at Kudankulam in partnership with Russia's Atomstroyexport.
