Palisades SMR, LLC is developing the Pioneer small modular reactor project in Michigan, proposing to install two SMR-300 units with a combined capacity of approximately 600 megawatts. The company submitted Part 1 of a phased construction permit application on December 31, 2025, and the NRC initiated the environmental review process on June 15, 2026.
