Angra 3 is a 1405 MWe pressurized water reactor that is about 65% complete. Construction originally began in 1984, was resurrected in 2006, then halted again in 2015. A November 2025 BNDES study suggests completing the project (BRL23.9B) is cheaper than abandoning it (BRL22-26B). If approved, target completion would be 2033. The project awaits a decision from the National Energy Policy Council.
