A three-year BRL 50 million project launched in November 2025 to develop a concept for a Brazilian 3-5 MWt microreactor with core cooling by heat pipes. The vision is for the microreactor to fit within a 40-foot container and be operated remotely for more than 10 years without refuelling. The target is for first units to be operational in 8-10 years (2033-2035).
