Indonesia is advancing nuclear power plans with a goal of contributing 5.3 GW by 2032, with construction expected to begin around that same year. Indonesia's Energy Council proposed 29 sites for nuclear plant construction. The country is exploring SMR deployment on the island of Borneo and has engaged with multiple technology vendors. A 123 nuclear cooperation agreement with the US is under discussion.
