Programme of uprates and modernisation at eight Constellation plants: Braidwood, Byron, Clinton, Dresden, LaSalle and Quad Cities (Illinois), Calvert Cliffs (Maryland) and Limerick (Pennsylvania). DOE's Office of Energy Dominance Financing issued a conditional commitment of up to USD 5 billion on October 27, 2026 to finance nearly 1.1 GW of added capacity (the capacity figure is DOE's; no per-plant breakdown was given). The loan is subject to technical, legal, environmental and financial conditions, and DOE holds an option to finance further uprates at other Constellation sites. Some uprates are tied to customer agreements, such as about 190 MW at Calvert Cliffs for Amazon and 30 MW at Clinton for Meta. No NRC approvals for these uprates had been reported.
