Moltex Energy Canada is developing the SSR-W, a molten salt reactor that uses nuclear waste as fuel. In March 2025, Moltex announced it had successfully validated its WATSS fuel recycling process on used nuclear fuel bundles through hot cell experiments at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories.
