The company filed an NRC construction permit application in 2026. The US has lacked a reliable domestic Mo-99 source for decades — it is used in approximately 40,000 diagnostic imaging procedures daily in the US. With a 66-hour half-life, Mo-99 cannot be stockpiled and any supply disruption immediately affects healthcare.
