Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power is a South Korean power-generation company that develops and operates nuclear assets and pursues overseas energy projects. Its nuclear fleet and development expertise include the APR1400, a 1,400-MW pressurized-water reactor used at Saeul Units 3 and 4. On 20 January 2026, TerraPower announced that KHNP had joined its investor base through SK's investment, with the companies planning commercialization cooperation for the Natrium advanced-reactor programme. Under the US-Korea Framework for the Deployment of Nuclear Power announced on September 30, 2026, up to two KHNP APR1400 reactors could be built in the US on federal sites under a one-time waiver of the 2025 Westinghouse settlement that had barred Korean reactors from the US market; the framework is non-binding and subject to definitive agreements.
