KAERI is South Korea's premier nuclear research institute and co-developer of the i-SMR indigenous Korean SMR alongside KHNP and KEPCO. KAERI developed the SMART reactor design (System-integrated Modular Advanced ReacTor) and brings decades of PWR technology expertise to the i-SMR programme. KAERI also supports international nuclear cooperation including MOU frameworks with Singapore, the UAE, and other potential Korean nuclear export markets.
