KEPCO is South Korea's national electric utility and the parent company of KHNP (Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power). KEPCO oversees all of South Korea's nuclear power generation through KHNP and played a central role in the Barakah UAE nuclear project. South Korea reduced LNG imports by 7% year-on-year in March 2026 as the Iran conflict drove emergency nuclear restarts. KEPCO is involved in the 11th Basic Plan targeting 31.8% nuclear electricity by 2030 and in exploring new nuclear plant site selection.
