Scot Forge is one of the largest open-die forging companies in North America with extensive energy sector experience and received $12.27 million from DOE on May 14, 2026 to install a vertical turning lathe and gantry-style milling machine at its Spring Grove, Illinois facility to produce large components for Gen III+ SMRs. The equipment enables domestic production of large precision nuclear components that currently require international sourcing — a critical gap for US SMR deployment. Scot Forge is also a TVA coalition partner in the Clinch River BWRX-300 project.
