Springfields Fuels is a subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company operating the UK's only nuclear fuel manufacturing site in Lancashire. The company signed a manufacturing and supply contract with Terrestrial Energy in April 2026 to design and build an IMSR fuel production system — encompassing deconversion, fabrication, packaging, and transportation services for IMSR fuel. The contract provides Terrestrial Energy with access to established European nuclear fuel infrastructure critical for its pilot plant construction.
