The Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute is Vietnam's national nuclear research and development organisation advancing SMR feasibility studies following Vietnam's renewed nuclear interest post-2023. Vietnam shelved a large reactor programme in 2016 but has accelerated SMR evaluation as electricity demand growth from manufacturing sector expansion outpaces renewable capacity additions. Seaborg Technologies and multiple Korean and Western developers have engaged VINATOM on cooperation agreements.
