Rosatom is deploying land-based RITM-200 SMRs based on its proven icebreaker reactor technology across multiple sites in remote Russia, with the Yakutia project (55 MWe) the furthest advanced. The RITM-200 is described as "already in use on icebreakers and expanding to land-based deployment" in World Nuclear Association tracking. Russia's land-based SMR programme supplements its operational Akademik Lomonosov floating plant and is the most advanced operational SMR programme in the world alongside China's HTR-PM.
