Dow Chemical is one of the world's largest chemical manufacturers and X-energy's anchor industrial customer for the Xe-100 SMR. The Seadrift, Texas project will replace ageing fossil fuel infrastructure with four Xe-100 units providing both electricity and industrial steam to Dow's chemical manufacturing operations — the first direct fossil fuel-to-nuclear replacement for industrial process heat. Fluor is the EPC partner. Construction expected to begin in 2026 with operations in 2030.
