First American Nuclear is developing the EAGL-1 — a 240 MWe fast-spectrum lead-bismuth cooled SMR designed as the most cost-effective utility-scale nuclear option. In April 2026 FANCO submitted its regulatory engagement plan to the NRC. The EAGL-1 runs on a closed fuel cycle eliminating 95% of long-lasting waste and a DOE-funded PNNL review confirmed it is licensable under existing NRC criteria. FANCO offers a Bridge Power gas solution bridging the gap to full nuclear delivery for time-sensitive customers including Eli Lilly at Indiana's LEAP district.
