Framatome designs and supplies nuclear power-plant equipment, nuclear steam supply systems, fuel, instrumentation and control systems, and lifecycle services. Its advanced-reactor work includes fuel and component design and manufacturing, engineering, licensing and prospective operations and maintenance across reactor technologies including SMRs. On 23 July 2026, Framatome announced that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission approved a licence amendment for its Richland, Washington, fuel facility to manufacture fuel enriched up to 10%, expanding domestic advanced-reactor fuel-manufacturing capacity.
