Ocean-Power is a Norwegian energy developer that signed an MOU with Copenhagen Atomics in September 2025 to jointly study the potential for thorium molten salt reactors in Norway and Denmark. Norway has extensive energy industry expertise from its oil and gas sector and growing interest in nuclear energy as energy security concerns rise following the Iran conflict's LNG supply disruption. The Ocean-Power Copenhagen Atomics partnership represents Scandinavia's first private SMR cooperation agreement.
