Orano is one of the world's largest nuclear fuel cycle companies, covering uranium mining, enrichment, fuel fabrication, and recycling. The company signed a deal with Ontario Power Generation in February 2026 to supply enriched uranium for the Darlington BWRX-300 SMRs — diversifying Canada's fuel supply away from US sources amid trade tensions. Orano also expanded its partnership with NuScale Power for European fuel fabrication in May 2026. Orano operates fuel fabrication plants in France, Germany, and Sweden.
