General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems is the defence and advanced systems division of General Atomics developing the Energy Multiplier Module (EM2) — a helium-cooled fast reactor that burns existing nuclear waste as fuel. Selected as one of eight vendors for the DoD Advanced Nuclear Power for Installations programme in April 2025. General Atomics has decades of nuclear research reactor expertise including the TRIGA research reactor deployed at over 60 institutions worldwide.
