Talen Energy signed a Letter of Intent with X-energy on March 19, 2026 to evaluate deploying three or more four-unit Xe-100 plants in Pennsylvania and across the PJM market — a potential 1,200+ MW of advanced nuclear capacity. Talen previously sold its Susquehanna data centre campus to Amazon for $650 million and signed a 1,920 MW nuclear PPA. The Xe-100 LOI leverages Talen's existing nuclear infrastructure, transmission assets, and experienced nuclear workforce across Pennsylvania.
