Brookfield Asset Management is a global alternative asset manager with over $1 trillion in assets under management. Brookfield and Cameco acquired Westinghouse Electric Company in 2023 — making Brookfield the majority owner of the world's largest nuclear fuel and services company. In December 2025 Brookfield entered an MOU with Santee Cooper to potentially complete the two partially built V.C. Summer AP1000 units in South Carolina at a deal value of $2.7 billion cash. Brookfield and The Nuclear Company subsequently formed a joint venture to project-manage the completion, announced May 2026.
