RoPower Nuclear is the Romanian project company established by Nuclearelectrica and Nova Power & Gas to develop the Doicești small modular reactor power plant. The project is based on NuScale's 77-MWe pressurized-water-reactor module, with six modules planned to provide 462 MWe at the former Doicești thermal-power-plant site. On 2026-07-15, Nuclearelectrica reported that conditions attached to the conditional final investment decision remained unfulfilled, so RoPower Nuclear and Nuclearelectrica continued work with NuScale and the Romanian government rather than advancing unconditionally to the next phase.
